Sr. Technical Product Manager (gn)

Remote, Berlin Office, Hamburg Office
Full-time
Permanent employee

Your mission

As our Senior Technical Product Manager (gn), you’ll help shape the “Core Reliability & Connectivity” roadmap as part of the product team and serve as the central point of contact between engineering, users, and the business—with the goal of ensuring our platform remains industry-ready while delivering scalable value.
  • Building a bridge between technology and business: You translate complex technical challenges (e.g., security, protocol updates, platform quality) into tangible business value and incorporate them into the shared roadmap.
  • Driving technical discovery: You work closely with the Lead Software Architect and the Agile Delivery Lead to specify requirements for features (e.g., OPC UA, MQTT, container architecture).
  • Maintaining Close Customer Alignment: You regularly speak with industrial users—OT engineers, IT architects, and production managers—and actively incorporate their perspectives into prioritization decisions.
  • Ensuring Risk Management: You balance feature development and technical debt in collaboration with Engineering to ensure the platform’s long-term stability.

Your profile

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree: Any field of study—what matters most is the ability to think through complex issues in a structured way and communicate them precisely.

  • Industrial domain experience: At least 5 years of experience in product management for B2B software solutions in the areas of Industrial IoT, edge computing, or cloud infrastructure. You understand your customers’ world—factory floors, OT networks, industrial integration scenarios—and know how to evaluate platform capabilities from a user’s perspective, even without a UX designer by your side.

  • Technical & Domain Expertise: Familiarity with industrial protocols such as OPC UA, Modbus, and S7, as well as message brokers like MQTT or Kafka. Basic understanding of APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, and system architectures. You don’t have to implement them yourself, but you must be able to contribute to discussions with customers and in engineering meetings.

  • Business acumen: Experience translating technical investments into measurable outcomes (e.g., time-to-connect, support burden, customer retention) and advocating for them with business stakeholders.

  • Mindset and Work Style: You actively bring user and business perspectives into engineering—as a constructive counterpart, not as an extension of the technical team. You think critically while still working collaboratively. You actively use modern tools and methods to accelerate discovery and delivery. Very good German language skills (at least C1) and fluency

Bonus points for
  • Technical academic background: A degree in computer science or a comparable STEM discipline.

  • Cloud and integration expertise: Experience with the Azure Marketplace and cloud integrations.

  • IT security knowledge: Basic understanding of cybersecurity, particularly IEC 62443.

  • Agile transformation experience: Experience in helping product teams transition to agile working methods.

About us

About Cybus
AI can only create value if it's built on the right data. That's why we're building the foundation manufacturers need.
Since 2015, we've helped manufacturers connect, manage and scale production data through open standards and modern software.
We're a team of engineers, industry experts and creative problem-solvers who enjoy tackling complex challenges and building technology that makes a real difference.

What we do
Cybus Connectware connects machines, equipment and IT systems, making production data secure, accessible and ready to use.
It creates an Industrial Data Foundation that enables manufacturers to integrate and manage data across plants and systems.
That foundation enables them to roll out digital use cases faster, operate global production networks efficiently and deploy AI safely at scale.

While growing our team, we value diversity and therefore welcome all applications - regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic and social origin, religion/belief, disability, age, and sexual orientation and identity.
